Airport Link

The Airport Link and bus way project involves 15 km of tunnelling, including the road (5.7 km of twin tunnels), bus way tunnels and connecting ramps, as well as 25 bridges and will result in over 7km of new road. It also includes the construction of a new 750m fly over bridge connecting the East-West Arterial to Airport Drive and a new roundabout with highly efficient, signalised fast diamond intersection.

 

Ballina Bypass

Client: Leighton Contractors

The upgrade bypasses a 19km section of the Pacific Highway, allowing commuters to avoid the current five roundabouts, traffic lights and 60kph speed zones and taking the highway traffic out of the urban area of Ballina. The scope also included the construction of bridges over Emigrant Creek at three locations and structures to cater for flooding over the floodplain.

 

North West T-Way

Client: Leighton Contractors

This project is a bus rapid transport line in the north-western suburbs of Sydney consisting of two sections, one linking Parramatta railway station and Rouse Hill, the other linking Blacktown and Parklea with 21kms of bus only roads, 3kms bus only lanes, 30 bus stations, 7 bridges and 3 underpasses.

 

Perth to Mundarah Rail Link

Client: Theiss John Holland JV

This strategic rail link involved the construction of a new 70km southern railway line from Perth City to Mandurah, including 70km of double track and signalling and communications systems between Perth and Mandurah.


 

Windsor Road Upgrade

Client: NSW Roads & Traffic Authority (RTA)

This strategic rail link involved the construction of a new 70km southern railway line from Perth City to Mandurah. The Windsor Road Upgrade was a $420m program and approximately 28km of works to Windsor and Old Windsor Roads to upgrade the existing road from two to four lanes between Parramatta and McGraths Hill and is the largest urban arterial road program undertaken by any state government.

 

Qantas Hangar 96

Client: Qantas

The upgrade to the existing Hangar was required to accommodate Qantas’ new A380 aircraft. The project scope was significantly increased to include an adjustment to the high bay roof and required significant rework of designs to achieve value engineered solutions. An innovative procurement method for the structural steel and docking saved approximately 2 months and $1m on the project.

 

TSU A-Sets Infrastructure Upgrade

Client: RailCorp

This project was one of the largest alliance projects undertaken in Australia and is set to deliver an infrastructure upgrade program of over $1bn to the Sydney rail network between 2009 and 2014, with a view to extend. As part of the rollout of the new A-Sets train fleet, RailCorp’s Traction Supply Upgrade division (together with NovoRail joint venture) is upgrading substations, feeder stations and overhead wiring across the Sydney rail network to provide the additional power capacity required to run the new A-Sets trains.
