Darwin LNG Plant

Project Description
Construction of the Darwin Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant began in June 2003 and the plant was commissioned in the first quarter 2006 when LNG sales commenced. A 502 kilometre subsea pipeline connects the Bayu-Undan offshore facility to the Darwin LNG plant in Darwin. WorleyParsons have been contracted by ConocoPhillips,through an Engineering Services Contract, to provide the maintenance engineering and support required for the ongoing maintenance at the Darwin LNG plant.

blueVisions' Role

  • Undertake design review & provide site supervision
  • Coordinate all detailed planning activities for the construction work, lead planning activities with input from internal and external stakeholders, and work inline with master schedule
  • Interfacing and coordinating with other contractors, detailed planning of key activities, forecasting of key constraint activities to ensure achievability, assisting area engineers with reporting and planning
  • Maintain data related to planning initiatives, ensure that Master Schedule and detailed planning are in sync, prioritise maintenance work packages, and portfolio Project Management
  • Formulation of Integrated Plan in line with Strategic Implementation Plan, aligning the SAP data in line with Integrated Plan, coordination with the Engineering Service Contractor, and revision of programme logic time to time to suggest the best possible sequence to arrest delays
  • Advise Engineering Team Leader in regard of Project Control related activities, daily, weekly and monthly reports to Engineering Team, monitor and measure progress, reporting progress against planned for earned value analysis
  • Analyse and monitor progress reports issued by various contractors, and develop Forecast to Complete (FTC) analysis reports

Pluto LNG Plant Services Project
Client: Worley Parsons

Georgiou is building Woodside's Greenfield LNG processing site which involves 4 areas: Effluent treatment Plant; Site B East; Road 10; and Road 5. The scope of works include construction of reinforced foundations (in-situ & precast), reinforced concrete basins & sumps, underground cabling, piping, drainage, and detailed earthworks. The construction is employing some 1,500 people.


Wheatstone Access Roads Project
Client: Chevron

Wheatstone LNG is forecasted to be a $29bn project one of Australia's largest resource projects with a LNG liquefaction and export plant which will have an annual capacity of 15 million tonnes of LNG. Project scope entailed over 1 million cubic meters of fill placed for the construction village pad and 7 new access roads built to ensure safe access and accommodation for over 6000 workers. blueVisions scope consisted of providing detailed planning services, evaluation of extention of time claims, quantity tracking and forecasting to the clients requirements.


Douglas Mineral Sands Project
Client: Iluka Resources

Hamilton Mineral Separation Plant and Balmoral mine site, spearheading the completion of the 18-month project. Engaged after significant delays and design issues on the project. The project valued $350 million for three years, located in Murray Bassin. blueVisions managed the completion phase of the project, including all planning and coordination of on-site work, successfully achieving stringent quality, time and monetary requirements and to manage the contractual disputes arising from these delays to the value of an additional AUD$300M.
