Windsor Road Upgrade
Client: Roads & Maritime Services

Project Description
The Windsor Road Upgrade was a $420M program of works to Windsor and Old Windsor Roads to upgrade the existing road from two to four lanes between Parramatta and McGraths Hill.

blueVisions' Role

blueVisions Project Managed 9.6 km of roads and bridges on Windsor Rd from concept design to final hand over including:

  • Undertake design review & provide site supervision
  • Preparing project briefs
  • Briefing both internal and external stakeholders
  • Managing design teams
  • Overseeing contract documentation; procurement and construction
  • Preparing budgets
  • Forecasting, programming and reporting

In addition, the role required the preparation of project management plans covering the full life cycle of the projects. Constructability assessments were carried out during the design phases at various stages covering OH & S and risk management.

Airport Link Brisbane
Client: Thiess John Holland JV

Airport Link is Australia's largest ever road infrastructure project, a 6.7km toll road (mainly underground) linking Brisbane city to the northern suburbs and airport precinct. It includes the Northern Bus way (Windsor to Kedron), which will significantly expand the Brisbane bus way network and help pave the way towards a city-wide bus way. Various methodologies developed by blueVisions were used by other project team members. blueVisions was contracted to undertake design review and conducted site inspections.


Ballina Bypass
Client: Leighton Contractors

Leighton Contractors formed part of an alliance to deliver the Ballina Bypass project for the Roads and Traffic Authority of NSW (RTA) to design and construct the road bypass of the Northern NSW town of Ballina, providing approximately 12.4km of dual carriageway as part of the 10-year Pacific Highway Upgrade Program. The design review as well as attendance for site inspections were undertaken by blueVisions.


North West T-Way
Client: Leighton Contractors

Leighton Contractors together with Maunsell, were awarded the RTA contract to design and construct the North West T-way project, a bus rapid transit line in the north-western suburbs of Sydney. The project consists of two sections, one linking Parramatta railway station and Rouse Hill, the other linking Blacktown and Parklea with 21kms of bus only roads, 3kms bus only lanes, 30 bus stations, 7 bridges and 3 underpasses. blueVisions' extensive experience of road projects ensured that the project controls were able to effectively minimise risks and maximise opportunities, delivering greater resourcing efficiencies and providing reliable real time reporting for confident management decision making.


Road Users Strategic Projects
Client: NSW Roads & Traffic Authority

The Road Users Strategic Projects (RUSP) group at the Roads & Traffic Authority (RTA) sought to improve its strategic capability in project management in implementing training programs. blueVisions was commissioned to develop a training and coaching program that helped RTA build a project management centre of excellence incorporating blueVisions' holistic approach that incorporates its accredited technical and project management skills. blueVisions also undertook a review of the design and attended site for the site inspections.
